Road Trippin!’
I am writing this post from one of my favorite independent, cozy bookstores. I am thinking about all I did during my recent, two-week road trip. It was truly amazing and I’ll start sharing it with you today by giving you an overview.
Roll in to the National Roller Skating Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska
On a recent visit to Lincoln, Nebraska I had a bit of extra time and I wanted to see something I hadn’t been to before. Since most of the museums were closing soon, I decided to go to the National Museum of Roller Skating, since it was open an hour later and I enjoyed roller skating as a kid - at least most of the time.
Livin’ Large at The Library of Congress!
Think the Library of Congress is for bookworms only? Think again, my friends! I took a short trek to Washington, D.C. last May and this is what I discovered on my very first visit.
Create, Listen, Dance, and Learn at the Phoenix Musical Instrument Museum

The Beauty of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliessen West and the Arizona Desert

The Old Adobe Mission Plus Other Great Places All on One Block in Scottsdale
I always make it a point to visit at least one church, cathedral, or religious site wherever I travel. I love the architecture, the artwork, the stillness (usually), the history, and the various expressions of faith.

As mentioned in my blog just previous to this one, my mom and I went to the Western Spirit Museum: Scottsdale Museum of the West yesterday and today and it was wonderful! During this post I’m going to focus on the courtyard sculpture garden.
The Beautiful Arizona Capitol and Memorial Park!
There will be days that don’t remotely go according to plan when you travel. In fact, you will sometimes have to completely abandon the plan and “wing it.” Today was one of those days.
Some Scottsdale Spotlights!
This post showcases photos and locations I haven’t had a chance to touch on. So, here we go!
Don’t Miss Omaha Area Holiday Delights
While the weather may look just a little frightful for the next day or two, there’s a bunch of fun stuff for folks to do in the Omaha area between Christmas and New Years. I’d highly recommend taking advantage of it!
A Fabulous Holiday Tour of Homes
One of the best things about travel is taking advantage of local special events. I got to go on a lovely holiday tour of homes recently in the Iowa Great Lakes area. The homes were all decked out for Thanksgiving and Christmas with many beautiful decorations.
