A Fabulous Holiday Tour of Homes

One of the best things about travel is taking advantage of local special events. I got to go on a lovely holiday tour of homes recently in the Iowa Great Lakes area. The homes were all decked out for Thanksgiving and Christmas with many beautiful decorations. One home had many lovely historical artifacts and decorations. Another home was situated along a river and would be the perfect location for bird and wildlife watchers. I could have sat on their deck for hours watching the various bird types flit about. I think I must have inherited a bit of my dad’s bird watching inclination. I have not, however, made up fictitious bird names and tried them out on unsuspecting family members like he occasionally did. He thought it was hilarious if we fell for it. (Like yours truly) 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, be on the lookout for holiday home tours and all kinds of events for the numerous cultural holidays this time of year. I personally would like to learn more about Kwanza and Hanukkah and perhaps attend an event, as this is a special time of year for many people and what better way to learn than to participate in a special event? For some ideas, pull up Facebook events, browse your local shopper, or look up your state or local calendar of events. Here is a link to an upcoming holiday tour of homes in Council Bluffs.

And here is a link for a public Omaha holiday tour of lights with Ollie the Trolley! Numerous dates still available.
