See Plenty of Fish in the Sea at the Scottsdale OdySea Aquarium!
I absolutely love aquariums of all kinds! Well, I actually prefer the ones that don’t smell too “fishy.” Yeah, I know. 🙄
Anyway, I can spend all day in a large, well-done aquarium and Scottsdale’s OdySea is definitely both of those. There are more than 65 exhibits to explore and I’m not just talking tiny tanks set in a wall. Yes, there are some of those, but the majority of the exhibits are ones for a small crowd to enjoy. They even have a rotating theater that moves among four different “theaters” (walls) of exhibits. I had never seen something like that before. A fellow guest told me the last “movie” was showing in 5 minutes, so I might want to get in line. It’s called the Vogager Experience. I am so glad I did get in line! I am amazed at how many kind people there are in the world when I travel.
The OdySea has loads of different types of fish, as well as sharks, rays, sea lions, small otters, turtles, caymans, at least one tropical bird, and a resident sloth - who was, of course, sleeping peacefully in its own small hammock with its fingers (claws?) gripping the edge. Adorable! I’ve never seen one so close up before. The aquarium also has several attractions that cost extra such as a virtual reality experience and a diving experience. I was there for more than three hours and I still didn’t see all the regular exhibits so I did not do any “extras.” My favorite exhibits were the adorable otters, the clownfish tank, and the octopus (who was zipping all over in its tank-unbelievable).
There were lots of places to sit and just become entranced watching the fish or critters swim. So calm and peaceful and not too busy on a late Monday afternoon. As you can see from my plethora of photos and videos, I enjoyed it immensely and you would too! 🐟🐠🐡🦈🪼🐢🦀🐙🦭🪸🦦🐚🦞🦐
