Three Phoenix Area Vintage or Antique Shops to Find the Treasure of Your Dreams

Occasionally I enjoy antique shopping for unique items, but I have been surprised how much I enjoy antiquing here in Scottsdale and Phoenix. I have been to one small retro shop in downtown Phoenix and two antique malls. All have been fun and interesting.

Retro Ranch - Vintage Values at 4303 N 7th Avenue, Phoenix

Retro Ranch is located in downtown Phoenix and it’s quite unusual as far as vintage shops go. I love that they have merged a sense of art with their vintage wares. For example, the walls and displays are colorful, artistic, and fun. It looks like this shop may draw a young clientele. Younger than me anyway. (ha, ha) They have lots of vintage clothes. I’m not into that, but I do know some people who love to dress the “part.” The shop staff were super friendly when my mom and I walked in and we enjoyed walking through the different themed rooms and seeing what they had for sale. We didn’t purchase anything but it was sure a hoot looking. My mom and I both found items we remembered from our past.

Camelback Antiques - 2230 E Indian School Road, Phoenix

The second antique or vintage place is a medium-sized mall of about forty dealers. There are still many quality items to browse, however. The items were staged in fun ways. For example, a classily-dressed female mannequin was stretched out in a reclining position in an antique chair as you walk in. A large American Indian basket is hanging above a doorway where you can’t miss it. Everywhere you look you see unique items. Cases of all kinds hold smaller treasures. I was looking for southwest jewelry and found some there, although I just looked and didn’t purchase anything. Today I took my mom back to this mall to purchase a small Fiesta (dishware) demitasse cup that is getting increasingly hard to find. You will be sure to enjoy antiquing at this shop/mall!

Antique Trove - 2020 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale

The Antique Trove is a large antique mall with a wide variety of items, both old and newer collectibles. For example, my sister and mom purchased several fun new but mid-century modern-looking items for decorating and gifts. A long row of tall glass cases with shelves line the entire center of the building, holding many tiny treasures like jewelry, dishes, cars, and a plethora of other items. This mall holds many dealers and draws a decent crowd, particularly on weekends. There are a number of items you would typically find in the southwest such a turquoise jewelry, kachinas, and blankets. Other wares are similar to items you might find in the Midwest. You can easily spend at least an hour browsing for treasures here. Your eyes will spot different things every time you walk down an aisle that you just went down. My mom and I went back here several times and it was interesting to me to spot items I had not seen before. It seems to be the place to go in Scottsdale if you like traditional antique shops with lots of variety.
