Road Trip! St. Louis - Chihuly Exhibit After Dark

As part of the Chihuly exhibit at the Missouri in Botanical Gardens, both professionals and amateur photographers (like yours truly) were offered a special evening on September 19 to explore the gardens and take photos. While I was impressed with the twenty Chihuly installations during the day, they were spectacular at night! The glass work really stood out at night, illuminating the already-beautiful garden with dazzling color

I should mention that, although all of the evening Chihuly events are sold out, the exhibit is still available during the day through October 15, 2023. If you do plan to go in person, be sure to reserve tickets as soon as possible, as those tickets will also likely sell out soon, particularly since there is another special event called the Best of Missouri Market with more than 120 vendors taking place on October 6-8. Admission to the garden includes daytime viewing of the Chihuly installations at no additional cost. Regular admission to the botanical garden is $14 for adults. Children 12 and under are free and there is a large and playful children’s’ garden sure to enchant them! Be sure to plan ahead and bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. Garden hours most days are 9-5. A restaurant is available on-site.

The gardens are exquisitely beautiful right now. Many flowers and plants are still blooming and flourishing. The addition of the Chihuly glasswork adds a super special icing on the cake! Find more information on Chihuly and his exhibits at the Missouri botanical garden here.
