The Tam - an Iconic Restaurant and Pub in Lincoln, Nebraska

A week ago I met a friend (also named Deanna - which is fun to me because it is a rarity) in Lincoln, Nebraska and she introduced me to an iconic eating establishment she has been going to for years. In fact, it opened in 1973. It’s called The Tam Restaurant and Pub.

When I walked in, I felt like I stepped back in time (in a good way) to the restaurants of my youth. The booths may be retro, but well-kept and super comfortable. I loved them. On one side of the building there is a room with more seating at tables and chairs and the opposite side has a room with games, standing tables and looks like it might be a party room.

The menu is wide-ranging and the food is plentiful, home-cooked, and reasonably priced. I had a French dip sandwich, which was very good with a side of corn. My friend had the Tami, which was a petite sirloin steak dinner with a salad and sides. She said that is what she always has there and it looked delicious. We also had cheese curds as an appetizer and they great and more than we could eat. The Tam is also known for their many types of burgers, including a Monster Burger and a Reuben Burger. Their pork tenderloin sandwiches are gigantic! And on Thursdays they serve Mexican food, which I’m going to have to try next time. 😋

I’d encourage you to check out The Tam the next time you’re in Lincoln. It’s “where the locals eat!” Those are the best places, you know. 😉 Here’s a few photos and their website. You can view photos of their food and their menu on the website.
