Things To Do In the Next Week in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro

Zoolightful 2023 - Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo

Yay, the holiday season is semi-officially here! I love this time of year! There is so much in the Omaha metro to do I would be remiss if I didn’t share it with you.

Here are some ideas I have collected from Facebook Events and other resources:

Zoolightful - Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo - November 18-December 31 (Please see website for specific availability).

I went to the Omaha zoo this past Wednesday on a gorgeous day and got to see many of the decorations for this event. They are FANTASTIC! I can’t wait to see them at night! I’ll showcase more in another blog post soon, but it’s fun for all! Check out their website for tickets and additional information!

Midtown Crossing Season of Lights - November 12-February 14

The gorgeous white lights have been lit for the 2023-2024 holidays! Note that they will stay on each night until February 14. I love walking among the beautiful trees and lights each year. It makes for great family photos! Just sayin!’ 😉

International Games Day - November 18 at the Council Bluffs Public Library from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Bring the whole family and celebrate with a full day of activities and games at the Council Bluffs Public Library.

Create: Happy Holiday Trees - November 25 at the Hot Shops in Omaha

Spend a bit of time on Friday, November 25 at the Hot Shops in Omaha designing one larger and one smaller tree. Click the link above for preregistration and payment of the $25 fee, which includes supplies. You may also bring your own supplies if you wish. I’ve taken two classes from the instructor and they’re always fun!

Art Battle Omaha - Saturday, November 18 at the Culxr House

I attended the Art Battle Omaha in September and cheered on my friend. It was awesome! It’s kind of like America’s Got Talent, only with art. Artists get only 20 minutes to draw/paint a masterpiece and then attendees walk around observing and then vote on their favorite artwork from each round. Attendees may also bid to purchase the art works from the event and a percentage goes to the artist. It’s a fun event! There are more than 50 art battles around the world and Omaha is among them. It happens around every two months. Click on the link above to register.
