The AIDA KC - My New Favorite Hotel in Kansas City!
I love to stay in unique hotels when I travel so on a recent trip to Kansas City, I decided to try a highly-rated newer hotel I spotted on Trip Advisor. What I discovered is my new favorite hotel to stay in when in KC. It’s called The AIDA KC. I was surprised to find (later) that it only has 8 rooms and it is a boutique hotel. Here’s the website below. ⬇️
When I arrived in KC I admit I had a bit of trouble finding where to park by the hotel, but it’s mostly because I didn’t do my homework and check out the email sent beforehand or the website. I ended up parking on a tree-lined side street and David, one of the co-hosts, met me at my car and helped me with luggage because my room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. It was great of him to do that. It saved me a bunch of time and energy, as I was meeting my friend (my very first college roommate) at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and I was already late due to traffic and road construction.
When I entered my room on the top floor, I discovered it looked like something from a magazine. It looked very stylish and comfortable. The bathroom was huge! The shower itself was likely bigger than my entire master bath at home. Plus the temperature was just how I like it - COLD! 😁 I felt totally spoiled! Here are a few photos. ⬇️
Before I retired for the night, I took a few photos of the common areas and the garden to the side of the house. 😮 ⬇️
I noticed when I arrived in my room (earlier), there was a small box of elegant and delectable chocolates on my nightstand. Not only were they beautiful, but they were scrumptious! 😋😋😋 I was going to save them until the morning, but I gave in and enjoyed them after I got back from the art museum. Too tempting! 😉
I had a great night’s sleep and woke up refreshed. So I explored the rest of the house before I checked out. Here are some inside daylight photos of the common areas of the beautiful AIDA KC!
After some inside photos, I headed outside to load up my car. The car unlocked ok but was acting strange and wouldn’t lock after I placed my luggage in the car. So I got in and tried to turn it on. This is what greeted me. ⬇️
Oh, boy. 😳😩😠 Not good. Luckily the hotel is in a safe area and I got some time to enjoy the garden and the outside of the house while waiting for someone to look at (and eventually tow) my car to a service center. Hey, when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade and enjoy the ride! 😉 Here’s some photos of the gardens and the outside of AIDA KC. ⬇️
I will admit I got a little stir-crazy trying to keep myself occupied for several hours while waiting for my vehicle, even though I enjoyed the garden. So here are a few out-takes during that time period. 🤪🙄🤣
Forgot I had my glasses off. I take them off to look at my phone. Yeah, I know. I hate my progressive lenses. 🙄
I took a dozen different photos of this. 😂⬇️
Needless to say I was enamored by the garden and discovered the two hosts planted most of it themselves. Awesome! And here is the AIDA KC website one more time. It’s a great place! It’s spotless, beautiful, convenient to the art museums in KC and has wonderful and friendly hosts for whom this place is a labor of love. I hope to be back and try out a different room for variety. 👏
And the good news is that by the end of the day my car had a new battery and I made it to my stay in Excelsior Springs. 👏👏👏
Stay tuned for future posts about Excelsior Springs and more! 😉
