Video Clip of the Desert Botanical Garden

One thing that has surprised me recently is the beauty of the desert in the Phoenix metro area. I guess I had always simply thought of deserts as dry, rather barren places. Maybe it was the Zurich Succulent Garden I went to this summer that really opened my eyes, but I am just amazed at all the cacti, succulents, birds, and animals in the area. Nowhere do I perceive this more than the beautiful and sprawling Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.

I went there after dark in December for the Las Noches de las Luminarias (which I adored) but I also discovered I love the garden in daylight too. It helped that it was the perfect day to go - midweek (fewer crowds), upper sixties (my favorite temps) and plenty of sunshine. There is nothing like a beautiful day in a garden of any kind to make my heart happy. This one even more so! 😎😁😎

I could go on and on about the beautiful paths, the artwork, the lovely eating areas, and the variety of gardens here, but I won’t. You can get that all on the website below.

What I will show you are some of the hundreds of photos I took there as I zipped around on my electric scooter (thanks to my periodically tweaky knee). You can rent scooters there, by the way. So, bottom line, anyone can enjoy the garden. 😉 Below are a serious of photo collages and YouTube videos of the flora and fauna as well as the artwork I saw that day. They are featuring the artist Fernando Botero, both with sculptures featured in the garden but also in a gallery within the garden. I loved it! 🥰

A Gorgeous Day in the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden

(Two to 3 minutes but beautiful and interesting). You owe it to yourself to watch at least part of it! (I may be a bit biased.) Haha…seriously it shows quite a bit of magic at the garden. 🥰
