While this is rather unconventional, I would like to start this post by apologizing. I totally apologize for originally thinking Oklahoma City is a place with not much to see. Oh my gosh, was I ever wrong! 🙄 The locals told me that much has changed in the last decade or so and I can totally see that is the case. This is one of the most beautiful, cleanest, most progressive, and friendliest cities I’ve been to.

One of the places I was really impressed with was Myriad Botanical Gardens. It was located downtown and all the spring flowers were blooming. There were tulips and daffodils blooming everywhere. The weather was perfect the day I went as well. Can you say GORGEOUS? I absolutely loved it! 🥰

The outdoor gardens were complemented by artwork, ponds, fountains, an amphitheater, a bandshell, and a carousel. A children’s garden looked fun for kids too.

In the middle of the outdoor gardens was a large three-story, cylindrical indoor conservatory called the Inasmuch Crystal Bridge Conservatory. The conservatory recently underwent an $11 million renovation and is both unique and lovely inside. The first floor houses the visitor reception area, a gallery (that featured artwork of tulips when I was there - my favorite flower!), a gift shop and an expansive conservatory area with an indoor waterfall and many beautiful flowers and plants.

At the back of the conservatory is an elevator up to the second floor. That floor contains desert plants and cacti, plus a unique room whose circular window draws your attention both to the outdoor gardens and to the nearby city skyline. I was rather fascinated by this room and enjoyed viewing it from different angles. So fun!

Read the quote on the window frame. Lovely! ❤️

I really don’t know which part of this display I liked best - the unusual desert plants or their quirky names! 😉

I can so relate! 😂⬆️

The indoor gardens were extremely varied and all in bloom. For someone who loves to photograph flowers, it was an absolute treat. I took so many photos!

Loved this leaf pattern!

Huh! Who knew?!? 😲⬆️

Smelled fabulous! ⬆️

There were two areas I sadly did not get time to explore. The first was the second floor area over the visitor entrance (back of the photo below) and the other area was the third floor area that reminded me of a tree top canopy walk (the tube-like walkway on the left side of the photo below). I guess I’ll just have to save those two areas for next time! 😉

The gardens are open daily Monday thru Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 11-5. They honor reciprocal memberships from other gardens (I belong to Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha) so my visit was free. A fabulous deal!

Myriad Gardens also hosts special events and classes. More information about the gardens at the website below. It’s a beautiful place that provides lots of nature to an already beautiful downtown!

Can you say awesome leaves and swirl effect? 🤩⬆️

Loved the one teeny tiny flower! ⬆️

So zen and so beautiful! 🤩👏🥰
