Looking for a creative outlet for your kids or grandchildren? Or are you visiting the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha with young children or “big kids” that love to play and experiment?

The Joslyn also has a newly-redone kids area called Art Works: A Place for Curiousity. It is located on the lowest level in the original Joslyn building and features many interactive areas for kids and big kids to create, experiment, and even read books in cozy little wall nooks. How fun!!! 👏

And the best part - Going to the Joslyn is FREE!!! (Yep, that’s right! Completely free!) And they have extended hours Wednesday and Thursday evenings until 8:00. See their hours below:

Sunday 10 AM-4 PM

Monday Closed

Tuesday 10 AM–4 PM

Wednesday 10 AM–8 PM

Thursday 10 AM–8 PM

A Joslyn staff member is located in the room and assists kids and caregivers in using the area and also provides some art supplies. The staff member I spoke with was very friendly and I’m sure all kids would love to spend time in the Art Works room. Heck, I even had fun trying a few of the activities!  😁

In addition, Joslyn offers a number of classes for all ages and school programs and tours as well. The hallways nearby usually display art done by or of interest to children (and adults). Bring your kids, neighbors, and grandkids! They’ll have a ball and will likely want to check out the rest of the museum as well!

To be honest, I have no idea what this does, but it looks fun! ⬆️⬇️
