Know BEFORE You Go - Some U.S. National Parks Require a Timed Entry Ticket!

America’s national parks are really the pride of our country! They are incredibly beautiful and one of the best way to explore the great outdoors and to learn about history, science, and wildlife.

If you are planning to visit a U.S. National Park this year, you are not alone. U.S. national parks are becoming extremely busy places, particularly in the summer. As a way of crowd management (as well as making everyone’s trip more enjoyable), some U.S. parks are instituting one or more methods of timed tickets for entrance and/or attractions. You don’t want to get all the way to your destination only to find out you either can’t get into the park or have to enter very early in the morning or late in the evening. What a disappointment!

In addition to some park requiring time tickets for entry there are also many activities, tours, and attractions that require timed tickets in most of the parks. These activities are often very popular and tickets go quickly, sometimes months in advance. You also need to book your lodging well in advance, especially if you plan to travel in June, July and August. You probably don’t want to stay an hour or more away.

For current information about which parks are requiring timed tickets for entry, please click the link below.

I would also immediately look up the official National Park service website for each park you plan to visit. You will find information about tours, activities, programs, events, shopping, groceries, restaurants, camping, and lodging. See more at the link below.

Our national parks are wonderful, but when things get busy the early bird gets the proverbial worm. Be an early bird! 👏
