Don’t Miss Light Bloom by HYBYCOZO at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden!
News alert! Only available through March 30, 2025!
The Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden is currently featuring a unique and beautiful art exhibit called Light Bloom by HYBYCOZO. The exhibit, which is spread throughout the gorgeous gardens, features intricately crafted geometric shapes which allow both sunlight (by day) and an interior light (by night) to cast a wide net of exquisite shadows around the geometric shapes. The effect is simply magical, particularly after sunset.

I was fortunate to spend last week in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area and got to see the exhibit multiple times. The artists for the exhibit are Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieu.

My favorite visit, by far, though, was the evening visit on December 28, 2024. The garden was celebrating an annual event called Las Noches de las Luminarias (see my post from last year here ⬇️)

During this event pathways were illuminated by luminaries and a variety of musical groups performed in several places around the gardens. I discovered a musical group I really enjoyed - a three person string instrumental band entitled “Simply Three.” They performed while my son and I had dinner outside in a nearby courtyard. The music was enchanting while watching a brilliant sunset befall the desert landscape. Let’s just say I had one of those blissful moments that compel you to feel enormous gratitude and a sense of awe for just being alive.
A YouTube link to a Simply Three music video is below. Watch and listen and maybe you too can experience a moment of bliss. ⬇️

Walking around the Desert Botanical Garden while viewing the exquisite artwork and the unique and beautiful landscape was nothing short of phenomenal. I will feature a few photographs of both the art and the garden that night (below), but my HOPE is that you will see them both before the exhibit closes on March 30, 2025. The garden is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings until 9 pm through March 30 for increased night-time access to this exhibit. The garden is also open Monday through Wednesday evenings until 8 pm. Be sure to take advantage of the additional evening hours and view this amazing exhibit (free with admission) at an equally amazing location!
