While I love road trips, sometimes driving for several hours makes this body ache a bit. My usual solution is to find a highly rated city, county, or state park to get in a quick walk.

Today was one of those days. I drove from Iowa City back home and my legs needed a good stretch. I decided to stop for lunch in the Des Moines area and then find a park to eat and get a short walk in. While it was fairly hot, there was a nice breeze blowing. So I got some take-out and opened up Google Maps on my phone. Less than a mile from my location, I spotted a highly-rated park with beautiful photos called Terra Park. I navigated to the park and discovered a little gem. 💎Discover this park yourself via my photos below!

Note: I was so happy to see the children’s play area had activities for children of all abilities. In fact, I saw several folks in wheelchairs enjoying the park.

As you can see, it’s a great park! I saw folks walking and biking on trails, walking dogs, fishing, having a picnic in the main building at covered picnic tables, playing on the playground, and just relaxing on a bench. I even found clean restrooms! For more information about this park in Johnston, Iowa, click below. ⬇️

So what park will you discover while you travel? You just might discover one that makes the trip even more fun! 😎👏🛝
