Well, today is the day! I’m going to start posting twice a week (see earlier schedule) about my 37-day trip to Europe last summer. And I’m choosing to start with the most fabulous, economical place to stay in Milan - the K34 Milano B & B operated by my now-dear Italian friend, Stefania! She is, by all descriptions of the phrase, “The Hostess with the Mostest!” 🫶

K34 is an absolutely FABULOUS place to stay when visiting Milan! Stefania is the BEST host - very pleasant, welcoming, friendly, and so kind. I stayed here in May 2023 for a week and immediately felt I was staying at my home away from home. She has two rooms in her lovely home that she uses for a bed and breakfast part of the year. One room is called the Lilla Room and has a recently-remodeled en-suite bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. It also has a very comfortable double bed, a dresser, a desk with chair, wi-fi, and lovely decor. It comes with a large window on the front of the house (facing the street) that opens at the top to let heat out and cool the room faster (why don’t we have that???), plus an automated ceiling fan run with a remote control. The room does have air conditioning but generally European air conditioning is not run as often or as cold as American air conditioning. We Americans sometimes like to freeze, plain and simple. That said, I am ALWAYS hot and I was very comfortable there.

The Lilla room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There were absolutely no scary, unidentifiable things under the bed or in the shower. The en-suite bathroom looked new and had everything I needed. Plus, I didn’t use this, but there was a single bed tucked up at the end of a small flight of stairs included in the room. It would have been perfect for an older child or a traveling companion. I almost napped there (it is adorable) but decided I shouldn’t make more work for Stefania to clean up. When I left during the day, it was impeccably spotless when I came back. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! Even the items I had strewn about the room in my haste to see Milan were picked up. WOW! 😯

Stefania answered many questions about Milan and Italy. She truly is the “hostess with the mostest!” And she spreads out the most bountiful and delicious Italian continental breakfast! I could not believe all the choices and it tasted absolutely delicious. I kept exclaiming, “This tastes SO good!” 😋

Yes, she put all of this out for me! Just me! My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw it! Yummmmyyyy!!! 😋

The location is easy walking distance to a grocery store, the very clean and efficient subway, a wonderful pizza shop across the street and a lively and fun restaurant district. (More about those topics on a separate post!)

This B & B is a gem! The price is quite reasonable for the fabulous accommodations and location. I appreciated the air conditioning, the safe neighborhood, the cozy mattress, and the wonderful location. In addition, the gated garden in the yard outside is a gardener’s delight! I was able to see and do so much in Milan because of the location, the rate, and the fabulous host. I consider Stefania a dear friend. I will definitely be back and stay longer next time! And, if your travels ever take you to Milan, don’t hesitate to book a room at K34 Milano B & B! More info and photos below!

Please note you can translate the site into English by clicking on the top, right-hand menu (three little bars) and selecting the line with the British flag. 🇬🇧 Voila! You will see everything in English, if you don’t already! 😉

I give K34 a HUGE thumbs-up!!! You will too! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
