Sometimes when I travel I like to go to big cities with many attractions. And sometimes it’s refreshing to go to a small town and discover it also has a surprising number of quality attractions. Luverne, Minnesota is one of those towns!

It’s called The Clay County Fair and is held each year in Spencer, Iowa. I had a fun time attending this on Monday, September 8, with two family members. We had a blast!
Many times when you travel, you find a place that absolutely delights you. This describes my time perfectly on a recent trip to Luverne, Minnesota. Luverne is a town of just less than 5000 friendly people in Southwest Minnesota. For a town its size, it has a surprising amount of quality attractions. But the one that most captivated my heart was a collection of 6708 nutcrackers at the Rock County Historical Museum on Main Street.
